Power company Fitjar Kraftlag says it will be applying to the Norwegian energy agency (NVE) for a concession to built a 90 MW wind station at Midtfjellet in Fitjar. Project partners are Sunnhordland Kraftlag and BKK. The 33 turbines are intended to be the first of a broader plan for wind power development in the region. Fitjar Kraftlag says the response to the plans has so far been positive. It hopes to have its application ready for NVE by early next year. At a time of uncertainty in the wind power sector in Norway, the plans indicate there is still life in the sector. NVE reports it currently has 61 small and large scale projects under consideration.
