MNES absorbed by power ministry

With India's new government taking over the reins, the Ministry of Non Conventional Energy Sources (MNES) has come under the control of the Power Ministry. This, it is being said, is not a bad sign considering many portfolios have not even been given a minister to head them. Others say renewables, if clubbed with conventional power, will soon start being treated as stepchildren. Ajit Gupta is back at MNES with the title "Advisor, Power" and is pushing renewables with the same zest as when he formulated India's renewables policy.
