SMUD seeks O&M help

Three companies have responded to a Request For Qualifications issued in California by the Sacramento Utility District (SMUD) in July seeking firms to handle the operations and maintenance of its 17, 33 MVS turbine wind farm located in the Montezuma Hills of Solano County. The three are Specialized Turbine Services of Tehachapi, California, FORAS Energy Inc of North Palm Springs and Energy Unlimited Inc of Boise, Idaho. SMUD reports lower than expected output from the wind farm due to its inability to obtain parts for the problem plagued turbines made by now defunct Kenetech Windpower.
