Vergnet, a French specialist in small wind turbine manufacture for storm-prone regions, is to stop selling its least powerful models in mainland France. Instead, the company will concentrate on its largest 250 kW and 275 kW machines. It will continue to offer turbines under 250 kW to developing countries, though its bottom of the range 5 kW and 10 kW turbines will be produced for water pumping and desalination plants only, not for energy production. Vergnet is currently developing an 850 kW machine, which it hopes to bring to the market in three to four years.
