The American Wind Energy Association's legislative director Mike Marvin is leaving to head the Business Council for a Sustainable Energy Future. In mid March the wind lobbying group was seeking a replacement experienced lobbyist. AWEA is also now retaining a lobbyist, Joe Caves, in the California capital, Sacramento, to work on implementing its renewables portfolio standard -- an obligation on the power industry to buy specific amounts of renewables power -- now approved by state regulators. Caves also works with the Natural Resources Defense Council.
