Exhibitors and delegates at Global Windpower 2006 in Australia this month were happy with the purpose built Adelaide Convention Centre as the venue, although just going to show you cannot please all of the people all of the time, some complained it was too big. There were 30 exhibitors, more than last year, but there were some notable absences from the exhibition floor. Gamesa, Econnect, Australian Power & Water and Pacific Hydro, all significant players on the domestic market, chose not to support their conference attendance with hardware. The biggest and most elaborate stand was that of the German Federal Ministry of the Environment -- the free German beer dispensed by stand personnel on day one of the conference went down well. Unfortunately, a muddled logo billed the German party as the Ministry of Economics and Technology. Suzlon Energy, meantime, was disappointed that half its logo failed to make it into the trade fair directory.
