A 14 MW wind plant initiated and financed by a bank is the first to use AN Bonus 2 MW turbines on a commercial basis in Germany, reports AN Windenergie of Bremen, the Danish turbine manufacturer's German agent. The seven 2 MW machines are turning at a site in Lahn in the district of Emsland. The Raiffeisenbank Emsland-Mitte initiated and financed the project, with the involvement of local investors. Planungsgemeinschaft Energie und Umwelt, based in Oldenburg, developed the project. The 2 MW AN Bonus machine with a 76 metre rotor diameter was developed jointly by the Danish and German companies. It was tested for 18 months before serial production started in Denmark last autumn. AN Windenergie employs 139 people and services around 900 turbines in Germany.
