Crete gets 30 MW

A 27.5 MW turnkey wind station being installed by German wind turbine manufacturer Enercon is due to go on-line this month, the company reports. The 55, 500 kW E40 machines are located at Agrilida-Veliras near Sitia on the island of Crete. The commissioning is due to coincide with the completion of a new transformer station built by the Public Power Corporation, the state owned utility. The wind station is owned by a number of local Greek companies.
