Green visitors centre

Cornish wind farm developer Peter Edwards has won his battle to build a new low energy visitors centre at Delabole -- site of the UK's first wind farm. The centre will house not only an exhibition on renewable energy, but will also include a library/resource centre and a lecture theatre that will double as a theatre for the arts. In recommending the project go ahead, the planning inspector took a wider view of the need for information about renewable energy and energy conservation. The £4 million centre, expected to attract more than 150,000 visitors annually, is planned to open at Easter 2000.
