Developers of a proposed 600 MW wind farm on Shetland have launched a community consultation web site. The £500 million project is a joint venture between Shetland Islands Council and Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE). Up to 150 turbines are planned for the main Shetland island. The project is, however, dependent on a subsea cable to export power to the Scottish mainland. On the web site, the public will be able to find information about the development, look at maps and photomontages, ask questions and submit comments.
