Enercon installs another two 4.5 MW turbines at Port of Hamburg

Enercon will install another two 4.5 MW wind turbines at the port of Hamburg this year in a project developed by local company KvH Beteiligung. Once commissioned, probably in the third quarter of the year, the two machines will feed into the 10 kV network of Hamburg utility HEW, owned by Swedish state-owned utility, Vattenfall. The turbines, which are among the largest in the world, will be the sixth and seventh Enercon 4.5 MW prototypes. The first was installed in Egeln near Magdeburg in 2002, another in Wilhelmshaven and three in Emden, of which one is a near-shore project in the Ems estuary.
