Corsica gets first wind farm

Google Translate

The French island of Corsica has its first wind farm. The 12 MW Cap Corse wind plant, near the extreme northern tip of the island, was built under France's now obsolete EOLE 2005 support program for wind power and is operated by SIIF-Energies. Cap Corse comprises 20 Nordex 600 kW turbines. On its completion late last year Cap Corse was the largest wind farm in France but it will be overtaken when the second phase of the Souleilla-Corbières project, on the Mediterranean coast of the Languedoc, is completed this spring. Souleilla-Corbières is being built by the Anglo-French consortium Eole-RES and when complete will consist of 16 Bonus 1.3 MW turbines with a total capacity of 20.8 MW.
