LM 19 blades replaced by Aerpac blades

Passers-by at the Kaiser-Wilhelm Koog wind turbine test centre will have noticed that Micon of Denmark has removed the Danish LM 19 metre blades from its 600 kW prototype turbine. It is replacing them with Aerpac blades from the Netherlands for power output and noise tests, before resuming operation with the LM blades which, in the meantime, are to be improved to reduce noise emissions, says Micon's German agent, Dieter Fries. The direct comparison of blades on the same machine will influence Micon's decision about its future blade supplier.
