With two of Europe's heavyweight countries, Germany and Britain, both giving new legislative priority to renewable energy, the future for wind power is looking more secure than it has done for a while. The next few months will reveal if Germany has set its new wind tariff at the right level and if Britain's obligation on suppliers to buy renewables really will be backed by a new strategic approach to getting wind plants through the site permit process.
