Overseas aid to finance 15 MW wind farm

Vestas RRB has been awarded a mixed credit loan by Danish overseas aid organisation DANIDA to part finance a 15 MW wind farm at Perrungudy in Tamil Nadu. It is the first time mixed credit has been granted to the wind sector in India. The loan will cover 60% of the project costs, with the remainder being met equally by financial institutions and the project developer. The wind farm will become the largest installed by a private sector company using turbines as large as 500 kW. It is being built for Mohan Breweries and is to be complete by March.
