Spain's Gamesa Energía has started work on two projects with a combined capacity of 46 MW in Italy. The 32 MW Pietrafitta plant, in Abruzzo, near Rome, will mainly use 850 kW turbines, while the 14 MW Lardino project in Campania region, will use 2 MW machines. Gamesa, a wind developer and operator and a turbine manufacturer, sees Italy as a key market. The company says it has grid connection permits for 1700 MW of development across Italy. Its 20 MW Florines plant came online in March.
