Attendance soared at this year's wind fair in Tehachapi. As many as 20,000 people from all over the US came to the fourth annual two-day fair. Last year's drew an estimated 14,000, say organisers. At this year's event, wind turbines, kites, gliders and skydivers helped the community -- which calls itself the "wind capital of the world" -- celebrate on May 20 and 21. Tehachapi's 5000 turbines generate some 1.32 billion kilowatt hours of electricity annually.
