American aid package for small renewables in Asia

The United States has granted $400,000 in aid to 18 energy co-operation initiatives in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The money will pay for projects involving small wind power systems, hydropower and biomass, distribution loss reduction in rural electricity networks, information technology based energy management, water and energy conservation and standards for the micro-hydro sector.
