One Vestas 1.65 MW unit going up
1 September 1998
Putting an end to unverified reports in the Scandinavian press that Vestas Wind Systems A/S has several new turbine projects in the works in Norway (Windpower Monthly, February 1998), the company has announced it will be installing one 1.65 MW machine there this month. Adding to the nine Vestas turbines already operating in the country -- from a total of 12 units overall for 4 MW of capacity -- the new turbine will be erected at Hundhammerfjeldet, north of Trondheim. Power will be supplied to regional utility Nord Trøndelag Elektrisitetsværk. The company expects the blades to be churning power by autumn.
