Eiffel opens new factory set to produce turbine towers
1 February 2008
Metal specialist Eiffel has opened a factory producing towers for wind turbines at Fos-sur-Mer on France's Mediterranean coast near the port of Marseille. The facility will initially roll out up to 80 towers a year for projects in France and Germany, but the company says this could easily be doubled if required. The factory will employ 50 people. The port-side location has the advantage that materials and completed towers can be transported by sea.
