Northern Ireland offshore tender unsuccessful

A tender for the lease of a site for wind development off the coast of Northern Ireland has failed to produce any compliant bids, despite considerable interest from bidders. There are a number of uncertainties about offshore wind development that made it difficult for companies to commit fully to all the tender requirements," says Frank Parrish from the Crown Estate. The Northern Ireland Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment and the Crown Estate are now looking at how they might take the project forward, and hope to make an announcement in "a few weeks time," Parrish said, speaking in mid-April.
