Damaged blades replaced

Blades on nine of NUON's 28 Nordtank turbines, sited in shallow waters in the Dronten/Lelystad wind farm, have had to be replaced. The rotors, made by Rotorline of Heerhugowaard, were seriously cracked and damaged. The new blades have been supplied by Danish blade manufacturer LM Glasfiber, which recently completed its takeover of Rotorline. The other 19 units were fitted with LM Glasfiber blades on installation. From April 1, Rotorline has become LM Glasfiber Holland BV. Rotorline's former managing director Jaap Olthoff retains his position and other employees have been offered jobs in the new company.
