Plan to supply Paris suburb with wind powered electricity

Around 90,000 homes in the Ile-de-France (Paris region) could be supplied with wind powered electricity by 2010. Although it is not one of France's windiest areas, a wind atlas prepared by Espace Eolien Développement for environment agency ADEME shows that it does have enough wind resources to be commercially exploitable. The atlas makes careful note of land use, excluding the three nature parks in the Ile-de-France and allowing 300-400 metres between built up areas and potential sites for wind farms.
