Spanish developer Iberdrola commissions first project in Hungary

Spanish wind project developer Iberdrola Renovables is commissioning its first wind farm in Hungary -- a 50 MW facility in Kisigmand in the Komarom-Estergom province in the north of the country. The project consists of 25 Gamesa 2 MW wind turbines. Iberdrola says it expects to have a further 108 MW operating in Hungary by the end of the year, providing a significant boost to a market that started 2009 with just 127 MW installed. The company has also commissioned its Karscino II 7.5 MW wind farm in Poland, where it has six wind farms totalling 160.5 MW of operating capacity.
