Eneco gets rights to Dutch 120 MW

Rotterdam-based energy company Eneco has been granted the exclusive right to develop a 200 MW wind farm in block Q10 in Dutch territorial waters of the North Sea. The site lies 17 kilometres south of the 120 MW Princess Amalia wind farm in block Q7, which is jointly owned by Eneco and Econcern and was completed in June 2008. The Q10 block is the same distance from the coast, 23 kilometres, and at a similar water depth of between 20-25 metres as Princess Amalia. Eneco hopes to obtain the construction licence this year. If it is granted quickly, the wind farm could be operational in 2013, the company says.
