"Many component manufacturers supply to different sectors. We had to move on from a bundled presentation," says Thomas Rilke of Deutsche Messe, explaining the reasons for the new initiative. In previous years, wind companies have mainly gathered in a specific corner of the fair's energy hall. The HusumWind concept allows the companies to wave a flag as suppliers to the wind energy sector from whichever section of the fair they exhibit in.
More than 30 economic and political delegations from 25 countries including China, Brazil, Italy, France, the UK and EU accession countries visited Husumwind Hanover, says organiser Klaus Lorenz. Keen to boost renewables exports, the German economics ministry held a forum on "Financing know-how for renewable energies -- successful entry into foreign markets," while other information sessions focused on individual countries and renewable energy sectors.
In October, Deutsche Messe and Husumwind will combine forces again at Husumwind Shanghai, part of the Energy Asia event being held in China's capital.
