Midwest plans for Northern Alternative Energy

Texas based RES (USA) Inc, subsidiary of Renewable Energy Systems Ltd of the UK, is to undertake the project management, facility design and construction of the balance of plant element of FPL Energy's 160 MW project in West Texas (Windpower Monthly, August 2000). The wind farm, comprising 242, 660 kW Vestas turbines, will be one of the world's largest. It is a joint development between RES, Texas Windpower of Austin, and FPL Energy. FPL will own the wind farm, with all the power being bought by TXU Electricity and supplied to Texas customers.
