Zond International Development Corp in the US, along with partner Blue Chip Technologies, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Pentafour Solec Technology Ltd of India to establish a joint venture specialising in wind energy. The development company is a subsidiary of wind company Zond Systems of California. The first wind farm jointly developed will be 60 MW in Tamil Nadu costing some $15 million, according to the US Department of Energy. The deal was one of 23 worth $1.4 billion signed during US Energy Secretary's visit to India in February.
