Australian Wind Association releases guidelines for future development

Google Translate

The Australian Wind Energy Association has released its best practice guidelines for development of wind projects. The guidelines seek to set a benchmark for assessing wind developments in Australia and outline the technical, environmental and planning considerations which should be considered. They also provide information on the consultation processes. While the guidelines are expected to become the "over arching wind developers reference source," they are designed to complement similar documents produced by state governments, such as the NSW Wind Energy Handbook 2002. The Victorian and South Australian state governments are also producing guides to the planning process for wind projects. The best practice guidelines are supported with funds from the Australian Greenhouse Office.
