Austrian green energy company EVN Naturkraft is to install Enercon 2 MW turbines for its approved 40 MW wind farm in Kettlasbrunn, acquired from the German branch of European Aeronautical Defence and Space group. The project is due for commissioning in mid 2006 and will bring the company's wind capacity to nearly 84 MW. EVN Naturkraft is a subsidiary of utility EVN. It already operates five 1.3 MW Bonus turbines at Gänserndorf, and 13 Enercon 1.8 MW machines, divided between Neusiedl/Zaya and Prellenkirchen. Last month, it also installed seven 2 MW Dewind machines at Japons. A planned extension at Gänserndorf and a new station under development at Staztendorf, both using Enercon 2 MW machines, will further increase EVN's total wind capacity to about 110 MW, says the company's Stefan Zach.
