Spain's big four have the most capacity in foreign markets

Spain's top four wind farm operators, Iberdrola, Acciona, Neo Energy and Endesa owned 8946 MW of wind power capacity outside their home market by the end of last year, more capacity in foreign markets than any combination of companies from any other country, reports the Spanish wind power association, Asociación Empresarial Eólica (AEE), in its recently published yearbook for 2007. Neo Energy, an affiliate of Portugal's national utility, Energía de Portugal, is included in the list because it is based in Madrid, says AEE.
