Chifeng Zhongkai Wind Power Equipment Manufacture has begun construction of a turbine component factory at the Hongshan Economic Development Zone, in Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. Commissioning of the first CNY 150 million ($22 million) phase of the factory is planned for the end of next month. The company plans annual production capacity of 30,000 tonnes of wind turbine towers, 20,000 tonnes of flanges and 150 sets of stators and rotors. In the second stage, a CNY 100 million ($14.7 million) expansion will develop and produce turbine control systems, with planned annual capacity of 1000 power converters and an equal number of turbine control systems and blade pitch control devices. A CNY 50 million ($7.3 million) third stage is largely aimed at development of turbines with rated capacities of 3 MW and more.
