Brazil's energy regulator approves 50 MW project

Brazil's electricity regulator, Aneel, has given the go-ahead to build a $55.7 million wind project of 50.4 MW at Ponte do Mel, Areia Branca, in Rio Grande do Norte state. The developer is local company Compinvest Mercosul. The plant is expected to start operation in late 2003, Aneel says.
