Micon has supplied Deutsche Telekom with its first wind turbine, reports Dieter Fries, German agent for the Danish firm. A 225 kW machine was commissioned on May 14. It provides power for the Withelden telecommunications transmission mast and does not feed into the public grid. As a result Telekom receives no price premium for the electricity generated. Nonetheless, the turbine "operates within an economically acceptable framework," says Fries.
