Germany's Nordex creates new staff training academy at Rostock
1 June 2002
German turbine manufacturer Nordex has spent EUR 560,000 creating a service academy to train its technical staff. Located at its Rostock production facility, the training centre includes seminar rooms, a computer workroom and laboratory for testing components. "Employees with the necessary specialist knowledge are now difficult to find on the labour market. This is why, with the support of the regional state government, we have founded our own academy," explains the company's Dietmar Kestner. The courses are open to all members of the Nordex group, which has subsidiaries in 18 countries, as well as to customers and service-providers.
