Energiekontor going public

Wind plant developer Energiekontor of Bremen is due to go public this month on the New Markets section of the Frankfurt stock exchange with the help of a bank consortium led by Nord LB Hanover. The listing is aimed at raising finance for expansion of activities in other EU countries and in offshore projects, says the company's Bodo Wilkens. In 1999 Energiekontor's turnover was DEM 72.3 million. It expects to more than double this to DEM 160 million this year. Pre-tax and interest profits reached DEM 11.3 million in 1999 and are forecast to reach DEM 22 million this year.
