Sinus Holding, a wind plant developer owned by Australian-Hungarian investor Tibor Sabo, who was once a shareholder in Hungarian firm Hungarowind, is planning five projects in Romania with a total installed capacity of 720 MW, says the company's Loredana Corban. Sinus expects authorisations for the projects to be received by the end of 2008, with construction to begin by end-2009. Should all of the planned capacity be installed, Corban says the total investment would exceed EUR 1 billion. Sinus Holding is in negotiations with potential partners for the project companies through which the planned wind farms will be built, but is not disclosing names as yet.
