A new company has entered the wind turbine manufacturing business in Sweden with plans for a 22 kW wind turbine. Industrikunskap i Östra Värmland AB is based in Kristinehamn. The company expects to get a first prototype of its Nordan wind turbine, NW-22, ready by next month. The NW-22 will have a three bladed, downwind rotor. The aim of the project is to start a wind turbine manufacturing plant in the city. The new firm has been set up by a series of local companies working together with the town authority and the Kristinehamm utility. Kvaerner, a Norwegian engineering giant which has built a 3 MW demonstration wind turbine on Näsudden, is also participating in the Kristinehamm project.
