Nordtank 12 MW inauguration

Nordtank Energy Group Elsamprojekt inaugurated its new 12 MW wind farm in Tarifa in May, bringing the combined installed wind capacity in the area to about 70 MW. The new wind farm, baptised PEESA (Planta Eolica Europea SA), is made up of 12, 500 kW Danish Nordtank turbines, and cost a total of ESP 1100 million to build. Total output is estimated at 20.6 million kWh a year, or the equivalent to the annual consumption of 6000 homes. The local power company, Sevillana, which will distribute the electricity, has a 20% share in the plant.
