Andhra Pradesh High Court ruling on wind power tariffs

The Andhra Pradesh High Court has ruled in favour of wind power producers and other renewable energy generators in a case against the AP Electricity Regulatory Commission (APERC) brought by the Non-Conventional Energy Developers Association. The court ruled that APERC cannot lower the tariff for sales of non-conventional power to utility APTransco. The commission had proposed lowering the rate from INR 3.48/kWh to INR 2.40/kWh ($0.079-$0.0547kWh) for 2004-2005.
