Turbines make their way to Ontario's first commercial 9 MW wind farm

Final leg: Convoys of slow-moving transport trucks in Canada are delivering five Vestas V80 1.8 MW wind turbines from a harbour on Ontario's Lake Huron to the site of the province's first commercial wind farm, reports project developer Huron Wind. Trucks will make about 45 deliveries of turbine components on a "just-in-time" basis for construction at the site of the 9 MW project. Huron Wind, a joint venture of Ontario Power Generation and British Energy (Canada) Ltd, expects to commission the facility before the end of the year.
