Shenergy New Energy Investment Company Limited (SNEI) has won a public tender issued by the Shanghai municipal government to develop a 20 MW wind plant on Changxing Island in Chongming County, Shanghai province. The turbines will be installed on the northern coast of the island. Reports indicate the project will cost CNY 207.36 million ($28.8 million), with construction due for completion by the end of this year. It was established in July 2005 as a joint venture between the Shenergy Group, Shenergy Company Limited, and Shanghai Gas (Group) Company Limited.
