A solar-wind generator is being tested for powering an air base in Oklahoma. Tinker Air Force Base is testing the device to reduce pollution under the encouragement of the 1992 Energy Policy Act, according to a report in the air base newspaper. Representatives from the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Gas & Electric and Pacific Batelle Northwest Laboratories helped research the project and are currently seeking battery storage for the system.
