Chinese wind turbine producer Goldwind signed a $169 million contract in late June to buy generator stators for its wind turbines from Jieli Electric Co, a subsidiary of Yongji Electric Machine Factory based in the central city Xi'an. Delivery of the 1.5 MW direct-drive, permanent magnet generator stators started last month. The contract runs until December 2009, with Jieli supplying in batches based on Goldwind's production plans.
