Turbine supply framework between Enron Wind and Energiekontor
1 June 2001
Enron Wind and wind power plant developer Energiekontor have announced a framework contract for the supply and installation of 154, 1.3 MW turbines totalling 200 MW. Energiekontor expects to erect the machines in Germany and Spain before the end of 2002. "In Enron Wind we have found another reliable partner for installation of wind turbines," says Energiekontor's Bodo Wilkens. "The strengthened legal status of Germany's renewable energy law and the European Commission's ambitious targets for expanding renewable energies will result in a continued strong expansion of wind energy, so it makes sense to secure a number of modern turbines in advance," adds Cerstin Lange of Energiekontor. Enron Wind says it has already installed more than 300 of its 1.5 MW turbines around the world.
