French wind plant developer Eolec has started work on its first wind power project. The 11.5 MW plant is located at Momerstroff near the German border where five Nordex 2.3 MW turbines should be turning by late summer. The company, owned by German developer Ecojoule and Deutsche Bank, will set up a local subsidiary to own and operate the station. Eolec is also developing other projects in northern France. It intends to seek siting permission this year for 34 MW in the Somme department, 24 MW in the Aube and 7 MW in Sarthe.
