Italy's Fri-el and France's EDF Energies Nouvelles have commissioned a 70 MW wind farm of Vestas 2 MW turbines in Campidano on the island of Sardinia. It is the fourth wind farm -- and last planned -- by the two companies. The first was a 22 MW plant commissioned in Sardinia in 2004, followed by a 70 MW project in Campania the next year and a 72 MW project in 2007. Of the 234 MW total they have developed together, EDF says its owns around 111 MW. The two companies have recently decided to end their partnership in Italy. Fri-el is instead teaming up with German company RWE Innogy for future developments.
