Ongoing construction in Inner Mongolia

The first stage of the 49.5 MW Baotou Baiyun Wind Farm in Inner Mongolia's Baotou Baiyun mining area has been approved by the Inner Mongolian Regional Development and Reform Committee. Jinjie Technology Co is to build the CNY 546.45 million ($80.1 million) project. The area boasts some of Inner Mongolia's best winds. The Baotou city council has approved construction of 200 MW of wind plant in the area so far. About 100 MW is under construction with commissioning expected this year. Meantime, in Inner Mongolia's Shangdu County, Beijing Tianrun New Energy Investment Co's CNY 4 billion ($586.8 million), 500 MW wind power project is proceeding according to plan, according to sources in the Inner Mongolian Regional Economic Committee. In the first stage, 66, 750 kW wind turbines are to be installed with a combined capacity of 49.5 MW. The developer has completed foundations for 39 wind turbines so far.
