China Long Yuan Electric Power Group Corporation (CLYPG), a subsidiary of China Guodian Corporation, has became the first company in China to surpass 1000 MW of installed wind capacity. The commissioning of its 36th wind farm, Tongyu in south-east China's Jilin province, at the end of September, took it 58 kW over the 1000 MW mark. CLYPG's 1279 turbines are spread over 12 provinces. By the end of the year, the company expects its cumulative installed wind capacity to top 1600 MW. By 2010, it is aiming for 5000 MW of operating wind power capacity, with 15,000 MW targeted by 2020.
