German wind turbine maker Fuhrländer, of Waigandshain, has signed a framework contract with WindWelt to supply 67.5 MW of turbines by 2003. The deal is for 35 Fuhrländer 1.5 MW machines and 15 1 MW units. The contract is "very significant in view of year-long delivery lead times in the industry," according to WindWelt, a subsidiary of SolarWorld of Bonn. In a reorganisation, SolarWorld will transfer its 6.25% stake in Fuhrländer to WindWelt as of January 1.
